Lounge and kitchen
The kitchen is equipped with an oven, 4 gas hobs and a microwave to cook with. Cooking utensils and cutlery are also provided. There are 2 fridge/freezers to keep your food chilled. Our lounge has a TV. You can interact with other guests or take advantage of the reading material and games/puzzles provided. A CD/ipod/USB player is also provided. This room is not locked at all so you can come and go as you please.
Guests with children are very welcome. The general rule is that if your child uses a bed then they are charged to cost of the bed. It is the owners decision on any discount given. Our 3 girls love interacting with children visiting. You are welcome to contact us directly and get a quote for your stay at Slope Point Accommodation. Each family group is unique and so we set a price once we find out your details.
A port-a-cot is available to use at no extra charge. Please ask at reception for one or contact us in advance and we will have it ready for you.
Internet is now become unlimited and totally free.
A BBQ is available for you to use. We have oil available if you need.
Landry is available but at a cost. We charge $5 to wash and $5 for the dryer. Laundry powder is provided and hot water for a better clean. On dry days, guests are welcome to use our line to dry cloths to save money. Guests staying 2 nights or more get laundry for free.
We now have full coverage for any phone on the New Zealand mobile network.
There are 3 different ways to pay. Either cash, card or bank transfer. Please note we do not take any deposit or money until you get here.
Bookings made online: We do not take any money from your account. Please do not try and enter your card details on the booking request. Payment is to be made upon arrival.
Off Site Facilities
Fuel is available at Tokanui and Fortrose 24 hours a day.
Many of our guests like to prepare their own meals here. We suggest getting your ingredients in a bigger town like Invercargill or Balclutha. Our nearest dairy is 12 minutes’ drive away.
There are many options around the area which include:
Fortrose: Fortrose café open during the day and overlooks the estuary.
Tokanui: There is a dairy there and also the pub. The pub has a bistro open Thursday to Sunday in the evenings but also do a great toasted sandwich at the bar during opening hours.
Curio Bay: Curioscape is now open which is a restaurant - open, There is a shop at the camping ground
Niagara: This has a café and restaurant. Great coffees, hospitality and of course, great food.
We are located on the Coastal scenic route. Now the road is totally sealed. That's right... no more gravel roads to get to our place. Some small side roads are still gravel but the main road and roads to Slope Point and Waipapa Point is sealed

Tokanui has a district nurse available Monday through to Friday from 9am to 12 noon. If you are unwell, they are there to help you. If they are unable to help then Invercargill’s Kew Hospital A&E are open 24 hours a day. For emergencies in New Zealand you phone 111. Please let us know if you are unwell and we will try to assist you to get the right help.
